Prof. Edwin Meléndez is Professor and Director of the Urban Planning Center for Puerto Rican Studies, Hunter College, CUNY. Among his publications is Latinos in a Changing Society (Praeger) for which he served as a co-editor. Among his prior appointments, Dr. Meléndez was a professor of political economy and urban studies in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has a B.A. from the University of Puerto Rico, a Masters in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
